Flat Feet
WHAT is it?
The arch of the foot is formed by tarsal and metatarsal bones that allow the foot to support the weight of the body. Flat feet is a condition in which the foot has an arch that is lower than usual.
WHEN does it hurt?
Pain intensifies when standing on hard surfaces for prolonged amounts of time.
WHY do I have it?
When the tendons holding the arch of the foot are stretched or injured the arch may collapse. Additionally, flat feet can occur with an increase in weight, age, post-pregnancy or as a result of a developmental fault during childhood.
